Transformer Oil Filtration & Re-Generation
Filtration and regeneration that brings degraded insulating oil back into specification, without replacing the full oil charge and without moving the transformer.
Six-monthly oil testing
Insulating oil should be tested every six months. A full screen covers interfacial tension, dissolved gas, flash point, sludge content, acidity, water content and dielectric strength, and the results together tell you whether the oil is still fit, needs filtration, or has gone far enough that regeneration is the only option.
When oil needs treatment
- Dielectric strength has dropped below specification
- Water content rising
- Acidity climbing or interfacial tension falling
- Sludge forming in the tank or on the windings
- Flash point falling
- Dissolved gas analysis showing a degradation trend
Filtration
- On-site sampling and pre-treatment testing
- Vacuum dehydration and degassing

Regeneration
- Treatment of aged transformer oil where filtration alone is insufficient
- Removal of acids, sludge precursors and other oil ageing products

- Reduced need for complete oil replacement, helping minimise associated costs, downtime and waste disposal
