UPS/Batteries Repair & Maintenance

UPS and battery system maintenance

Battery discharge capacity testing on a battery bank in Qatar

Preventive maintenance, capacity testing and corrective repair for UPS systems and battery banks in service on industrial, utility and critical facility sites.

Preventive maintenance

Safe and reliable operation depends on preventive maintenance. It finds problems at an early stage and prevents further deterioration, which on a battery system matters more than most, because degradation is gradual and invisible until the moment the supply is needed.

  • Scheduled inspection and written condition reporting
  • Terminal cleaning, corrosion check and torque verification
  • Cell and block voltage and internal resistance measurement
  • Electrolyte level and specific gravity checks where applicable
  • Charger output, float and boost voltage verification
  • Ventilation, ambient temperature and enclosure condition checks
  • Thermographic survey of terminations and connections
  • UPS filter, fan and capacitor condition assessment

Capacity testing as part of the schedule

Inspection confirms a bank is healthy. Only a discharge test confirms it still has capacity. Periodic capacity testing with the results trended against the commissioning baseline is what tells you how long a bank has left, and lets replacement be budgeted and scheduled instead of happening after a failure.

Repair and corrective maintenance

  • Weak and failed cell or block replacement
  • Full battery bank replacement and disposal of the old bank
  • Charger repair and replacement
  • UPS module, fan and capacitor replacement
  • Connection and busbar repair
  • Fault diagnosis from test results and thermographic findings
